Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students’ vocabulary mastery through pictures. This research was a classroom action research conducted in Group B PAUD Banner. In this study, the researcher applied 2 research cycles. Each cycle consisted of four steps; planning, acting, observing and reflecting. Researchers used two techniques to collect data, namely: observation, and documentation. The data were classified in the form of quantitative. Quantitative data were obtained through game test. Quantitative data were analyzed using statistics formula. The result of the study in each cycle showed that there was an increasing in the number of students who get score above the passing grade, from 3 students in pre cycle to 14 students in cycle 2. The percentage of success increased from37, 63% in pre cycle, 55, 26% in cycle 1, and 80.26% in cycle 2. This result also showed that pictures were effective to improve students’ vocabulary mastery at the early childhood education level, especially in group B of PAUD Banner.
