Abstract
This thesis focuses on Vladimir Propp's Narrative Structuralism in the story of the war between the Pandai and Munaseli kingdoms. This research was conducted to answer three questions, namely; 1), What are the functions of structuralism according to Vladimir Propp’s theory? 2), What are the spheres of action function in this story? The method used in this thesis is descriptive qualitative. It is classified as document analysis. Based on the analysis, it was found that there are 10 of 31 narrative functions, namely; (1) villainy, (2) departure, (3) the first function of the donor, (4) heroe’s reaction, (5) beginning counteraction, (6) guidance, (7) resolution, (8) victory, (9) return, (10) punishment. 4 of 7 spheres of action that are found in this story, namely; (1) the villain, (2) the dispatcher, (3) the donor, and (4) the hero.
