Abstract

This thesis is entitled hyperbole in pamungkas song lyrics album solipsism 0.2 contained in pamungkas songs which are analysed into several aspects namely form, meaning, and function.This thesis analyses several aspects including form, meaning, and function. The researcher uses descriptive method in this research. The data in this research is analysed and explained by using qualitative method. So, this research uses qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study were obtained through literature study. The population of this research is One album from Pamungkas entitled Solipsism 0.2 and the album consists of 11 songs where each album has 10 songs. After being analysed, the researcher found 51 hyperbole expressions in 11 Pamungkas songs. The expressions are then grouped into several forms. There are 24 single word hyperbole, 24 phrase hyperbole, and 1 clausal hyperbole as well as 1 repetition. This research also explains and analyses the meaning and function of the hyperbole expressions found in Pamungkas' songs. Hyperbole conveys various aspects of love from intense infatuation to willingness When analysing hyperbole and interpreting its meaning, it is important to interpreting its meaning, it is very important for the next researcher to have ana deep understanding of the content of the songs.
