Abstract

This research entitled “Use of Look and Say Method to improve student’s Vocabulary Mastery at the Eighth Grade of SMP N 2 Kupang.The writer’s research problem is:Does the Use of Look and Say method improve students’ vocabulary at the eighth grade of SMP Negeri 2 Kupang? Aim of this study is: To find out whether or not the use of Look and Say method improve students’ vocabulary at the eighth grade of SMP N 2 Kupang. In this study the writer used descriptive quantitative especially Experimental Design. Based on the analysis it was found that there is an improvement between students’vocabularybeforeandaftergivingtreatmentbyusingLookandSay Method that can be proved through the result showed that the pre test is 33,51 and the post test is 84,68, then the T-Test 10,9 due T-table is 1,695 the T-test is higher than T-table so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accept and the null hypothesis(Ho)isrejected therefore based on the data obtained, the writer writer concludedthat: The student’s vocabulary mastery before using of Look and say method was still low, the problem was that they were still lack of the vocabularies and not familiar with the words but After the writer gave the treatment by using Look and Say Method vocabulary of Student’s at SMP Negeri 2 Kupang very good improvement.
