Abstract
This study aims to investigate the English Education students’ perceptions toward the use of Google Translate (GT) in English language learning at Universitas Kristen Artha Wacana, Kupang. A descriptive quantitative approach is employed to fulfill this objective. The participants involved in this study are fourth-semester students selected from the English Education Study Program. Data collection is executed by distributing a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 20 items covering five main perception indicators: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, effectiveness, satisfaction, and learning support. The collected data are statistically analyzed using descriptive statistics to calculate the percentage and mean scores. The empirical findings demonstrate that the students hold a highly positive perception toward the integration of Google Translate in their studies. This positive stance is substantiated by a "Very High" overall average mean score of 4.50. Individually, perceived ease of use achieves the highest score (Mean = 4.59), followed closely by perceived usefulness (Mean = 4.57), effectiveness (Mean = 4.52), satisfaction (Mean = 4.46), and learning support (Mean = 4.40). The results indicate that while students find the tool immensely helpful for vocabulary acquisition and task completion, they maintain a critical awareness of its grammatical constraints.
