Abstract
This research aims to analyze whether the implementation of the Hot Seat Game strategy can increases students' speaking skills. The research method employed was quantitative research. The research design utilized a pre-experimental design with one-group pre-test and post-test design. The sample for this study consisted of a single class at SMAN 1 Taebenu, specifically Class XI.A, comprising a total of 14 students, 2 males, and 12 females. To collect data, the researcher administered a speaking test involving describing a picture, which was conducted in two stages, namely the pre-test and post-test. The test scores assessed five aspects: pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and interactive. Based on the research data analysis, the researcher concludes that the implementation of the Hot Seat Game strategy can increase the students' speaking skills in Class XI.A at SMA Negeri 1 Taebenu. This is evident from the students' main score improvement from 9.21 in the pre-test to 19.29 in the post-test, indicating an 87,9% increase in their speaking skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that this method enhances students' speaking abilities in the learning process. The author emphasizes that since this research did not use a control group for comparison, the results of this study are not entirely conclusive. Therefore, the author suggests that future researchers refine the outcomes of this study.
