Abstract
The title of this research is “An Analysis of Teacher’s Challenges in Teaching English for Young Learners at Canossa Elementary School: Second Language Learning.” This research aims to learn about the challenges faced by English teachers when teaching young learners as a second language at Canossa Elementary School. The research methodology was Qualitative method using interview instrumental. The informant for this study consisted of an English language teachers at SD Canossa face substantial challenges in teaching young children. Based on the the implementation of the research data analysis, the researcher concludes that the implementation of the teacher’s challenges in teaching English for young learners at SD Canossa encounter substantial challenges in instructing early childhood students. Lack of specific training hinders the adoption of modern teaching strategies, leading to a dearth of innovation. Students’ language comprehension difficulties, particularly in vocabulary, complicate teaching, emphasizing the need for improved support systems. Limited age-appropriate textbooks and resource constraints hinder effective teaching. Government policies supporting autonomy need refinement, and varying class sizes impact learning quality. Despite challenges, teachers strive to enhance skills through technology and inclusive approaches. Overall, concerted efforts from the school, government, and stakeholders are essential to improve early childhood English teaching at Canossa Elementary School.
