Abstract
This study aims to identify and analyze the strategies used by teachers in teaching English at SMA 1 Taebenu. Teaching strategies are a crucial aspect of the learning process as they directly affect the effectiveness of material delivery and student engagement in learning activities. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews with two English teachers. The results of the study show that the teachers use various teaching strategies that reflect an understanding of students’ needs and classroom dynamics. The strategies applied include interactional approaches, text-based approaches, technology-based strategies, and student-centered strategies. The teachers integrate learning media, discussion activities, and the use of technology in an effort to create an engaging and communicative learning atmosphere. In addition, the teachers also actively serve as facilitators and motivators in helping students develop their English skills holistically. The findings of this study indicate that the success of the learning process is greatly influenced by the selection of appropriate, contextual, and flexible strategies that align with students’ conditions. This research is expected to provide insights for teachers in choosing effective teaching strategies and serve as a reference for the development of adaptive and innovative English teaching practices.
