Abstract
This study aims to explore student's perceptions on the implementation of the internship program under the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) framework in the English Education Study Program at Artha Wacana Christian University. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, using closed-ended questionnaires as data collection instruments.Atotal of 33 respondents, all of whom were fifth-semester students, had participated in the MBKM internship program during the 2024/2025 academic year.The findings revealed that the majority of students had a positive perception toward the program. Specifically, 39.09% of respondents strongly agreed and 50% agreed that the internship provided real benefits in developing their professional competencies, particularly in teaching skills, communication, and workplace adaptation. As many as 69.7% of respondents agreed and 27.3% Strongly Agree, students feel that the MBKM internship program is easy to implement because there are clear directions, guidance from supervisors and internship partners, and assignments can be completed well, As many as 63.6% Agree and 27.3% Strongly Agree students gain new experiences such as adapting to the world of work, working professionally, and improving communication and teamwork, As many as 51.5% Agree and 36.4% Strongly Agree students feel that this program provides provisions and readiness to face the next study period and the world of work through direct experience that is not obtained in the classroom.Based on these results, it is recommended that the MBKM internship program be further improved and aligned with both student needs and the evolving demands of the job market.
