Abstract
This study analysis on using authentic materials for writing interest in descriptive texts, to solve the research problem the students experiences and the impact of using authentic materials, such as textbook and multimedia, on the writing interest and skills of eleventh-grade students at SMAN 1 Taebenu Kabupaten Kupang. Through qualitative methods involving interviews and observations with 20 students, the research found that authentic materials significantly enhanced students' engagement, creativity, and confidence in writing descriptive texts. The findings suggest that integrating real-world content into writing instruction makes learning more relevant and effective, motivating students to express themselves better and improving their writing abilities. The study recommends that educators use authentic materials more frequently to create a more interactive and meaningful learning environment.
