Abstract
This research was conducted to improve speaking skill by using communicative activities in 2nd semester of English Education Study Program at Christian Artha Wacana University. The purpose of this study was to aims to explore the effectiveness of communicative activities in improving students' speaking abilities in EESP. The researcher used Communicative Languange Teaching method . To collect data, the researcher used pre-test and post-test. In analyzing the data, the researchers used simple statistical analysisof students’pre-test and pos-test scores collaborated with the lecturer. The sample of this study consisted of one class in 2nd semester of EESP at Christian Artha Wacana University , which consisted of 15th students. To collect data, the researcher collaborate with the lecturer used pre-test and post-test with some communicative activities in the classroom. Test scores including: fluency,pronunciation,accuracy,clarity, and performance. The result is 33,3% average in pre-test and 40% average in post-test. At the end , the researcher can conclude that this method improves students’ speaking skills in teaching learning process.
