Abstract

This study aimed to describe the use of media in teaching English to young learners at SD GMIT Oesapa. This descriptive study involved English teachers from several elementary schools as participants. Data were collected through interviews and analysis the data. The results showed that visual media such as pictures, videos, and films were the most frequently used in teaching English to young learners. Teachers also utilized technological media like computers, tablets, and smartphones to support learning. Furthermore, this study found that the use of media can improve young learners' English language skills, particularly in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This study concludes that the use of appropriate media can help improve the quality of English language instruction in elementary schools. Therefore, this study recommends that English teachers should consider using appropriate media when teaching young learners.
