Abstract
Audio-visual materials is a model of material that made using media with recording sound and display screens from the material to be taught.The use of audio-visual materials in teaching and learning process, makes teaching more interesting for students and teachers creates better relationships in the classroom, and promotes effective communication between students and teachers. The aims of study to describe the strategies those are used by the teacher in teaching strategy Audio Visual Method at SMP N 10 Kota Kupang. The writer formulated research questions namely does the audio-visual material in teaching strategy using audio visual. This research was an observed research. There were the teachers in teaching strategy used, those were listen the music using speakers. The number of population are 390 students of the 8th grade at SMP N 10 Kota Kupang. Two classes were selected using cluster random sampling method. The subjects of this research is English subject teacher at SMP N 10 Kota Kupang. Based on research on the use of learning strategies as audio visual in vocabulary learning among students in grades 8 of SMP N 10 Kota Kupang, the author concludes the results of thhe research as follows. The result of the research showed that, first, the students listening comprehension was difference before and after teaching using audio-visual material. Therefore, there was significant difference after teaching using audio-visual material toward students’ listening comprehension. It can be proved that audio-visual material is effective and can be used to improve students listening comprehensionat SMP Negeri 10 Kota Kupang in the academic year 2023/2024.
