Abstract

This research entitled an analysis on the meaning of farewell song lyrics in Bonet. The purposes of this research are to know the meaning and the value contained in the farewell song lyrics in Bonet. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method to find the result. The writer conducted this research in TTS Regency, Noebana district, Noebana village, especially Noebana Primary School. The researcher here used a research instrument, questions related to the lyrics of the Bonet in the process of conducting research. The all data was collected the first through the appearance of Bonetperforms (sixth grades students) at Noebana Primary School and the second through interview with (traditional elders) or people who know about the meaning and the values contained in the farewell song lyrics in Bonet. The result of this study shows that there are five types of meanings namely: didactic meaning, sociological meaning, historical meaning, cultural meaning and aesthetic meaning. And then there are four types of values namely: ethical values, aesthetic values, religious values and the last social values.
