Abstract

This study was conducted under the title: Improving Students Writing in Procedure Text By Using Video At Seven Grade Students Of SMP Negeri 1 Kupang Tengah. The aim at this research was find out whether or not the use of video can improve students writing in procedure text. The research problem is “Can using videos improve students writing skills in procedure text?”. Answer the problem of this study, the writer employed a Pre-experimental design by in this study. The researcher took students’ class VIIA of SMPN 1 Kupang Tengah who took part in class were 30 students, the research taught procedural text using video.and were taught without video but using some materials,then, the post-test was distributed to them where the result shows that the post-test mean score is 340 and the mean score of pre-test is 196. That statistical calculation shows the t-test value of both is 2599, and the improvement of total each component of pre-test is 6,28 and post test is 11,31. This means that the result of pre-test and post-test is significant this concludes that the use of video can improve students writing in procedure text.
