Abstract

This research entitled Semantic Analysis On Contextual Meanings Of Ata Ratu’s Songs In The Kambera Language. Based on the songs of Ata Ratu in general, this study aims to to find out the contextual meanings of Ata Ratu’s songs in theKambera language. This study uses qualitative methods to find out the results. The researchers carry out the necessary data collection activities followed by processing the data with the specified techniques. The results of data analysis and interpretation showed that in the lyrics of Ata Ratu’s songs there are contextual meanings that are : (1) Context of Organs. Songs title: Mbawa Rimangu Na Annanduma Lurimu “Be careful in making a living”, (S1), Rimanya Na Wikinda “Take care of Ourselves”,(S2), Daningu Anda Monungu “No Hope”, (S5). (2) Context of Situation. Songs title: Rimanya Na Wikinda “Take care of Ourselves”, (S2), Ndana Peku Palanja Nggau “Not Ready to Leave You”, (S3), Daningu Anda Monungu“ No Hope”, (S5). (3) Context of Purpose. Songs title: Mbawa Rimangu Na Annanduma Lurimu“Be careful in making a living”, (S1), Rimanya Na Wikinda “Take care of Ourselves”, (S2), Ndana Peku Palanja Nggau “Not Ready to Leave You”, (S3), Hadangu Kata Pahada Belinya Na Ngguti Na Kalaratunda“Rise up so we can revive, protect and sustain our customs and culture”, (S4). (4) Mood Context of Speaker or Listener. Songs title: Mbawa Rimangu Na Annanduma Lurimu “Be careful in making a living”, (S1), Ndana Peku Palanja Nggau “Not Ready to Leave You”, (S3), Daningu Anda Monungu“ No Hope”, (S5). (5) Context of Place. Songs title: Mbawa Rimangu Na Annanduma Lurimu “Be careful in making a living”, (S1), Hadangu Kata Pahada Belinya Na Ngguti Na Kalaratunda “Rise up so we can revive, protect and sustain our customs and culture”, (S4). (6) Object Context. Songs title: Rimanya Na Wikinda “Take care of Ourselves”, (S2), Daningu Anda Monungu“ No Hope”, (S5).
