Abstract

This research entitled A descriptive study on types of presupposition found in the “Golden Ways” a TV program hosted by Mario Teguh. Based on the “Golden Ways” a TV program hosted by Mario Teguh in general, this study aims to find the types of presupposition contained in the TV program. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods to find out the results. The researchers carry out the necessary data collection activities followed by processing the data with the specified techniques. The results of data analysis and interpretation showed that in the utterance of Mario Teguh’s golden ways a TV program there are types of presupposition 1) Existential Presupposition : Mario Teguh used name of something and number The formula that God has set, Hibram deserves the best for that soul mate, I’m making my self the best soul mate for who ever God is sending me, 2) In factive presupposition, he used words “realize” and “knows” Many people realize that quarrel is a good sign, The devil’s know that husband and wife will have great children.3) In lexical presupposition, he used “again and start ” We meet again in our simple program but yes hopefully the impact is not simple for the beauty of our lives, I started from the title Mr. Mario, A soul mate starts from true love, Because when a man and woman meet in adulthood, they’ve already formed as wax, they’ve started to harden and have a shape, and there will be arguments, coercion, adjustments, and then there’s what we call sacrifice. 4) In structural presupposition, he used wh-question construction “where, why, what, who, and how” Talk about love, what does it have to do with it ? What is the cause and effect ?, What is singles ?, How do we make ourselves a quality person ? 5) In non factive presupposition, he used word “dream, imagine and expects” You dream of financially man. 6) In counter factual presupposition, there is a clause, If he is really your mate, Gods keep being together, If like that, take it self-confidence.
