Abstract
The title of this research is “An Analysis on the Context of Situation of Tamtoet Bife’Ceremony (Asking for Marriage) in Uab Meto Language in Taebenu Subdistrict” Contains an analysis and discussion of context of situation in the process of asking for marriage. The aim of the research is to find out and to describe the context of situation in the process of tamtoet bife ceremony (Asking for Marrige) by the people in Taebenu Subdistrict. A descriptive qualitativ method was applied for this purpose. In finding the date, observation was done on 9th on November 2022. While doing the observation, the researcher recorded the process of asking for marriage. The context of situation such as field ,tenor, and mode, furthermore , in the process of tamtoet bife’. The field of the text is A process of asking for marriage which more emphasize in the family meeting. There were 2 main speaker in the tenor of the ctext .While the mode was using more spoken because this is the dialogue. The structure of the text starts from BO (Bargaining Opening), BC (Bargaining Content) and BCL( Bargaining Closure). Based on the date analysis it is suggested that lectures should teach materials related to context of situation, especially dealing with cultural/ritual. Process such as asking for marriage to enrich student’s knowledge and for the culture’s elder to show introduce every kind of culture processes to the young generatio
