Abstract
This research aims to find out the types of idiomatic expressions and to find outthe most used idiomatic expression found in Joker film script. Thisresearch employed a descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research were collected manually from the Joker film script. The result of this research showed that there were five types of idiomatic expression found in Joker film script they were phrasal verb for example: “Keeping up” means (Continue to do something) with percentage 48,51% and phrasal Compound for example: “Busy man” means (Having a lot to do) with percentage 17,91%. Which the others, slang with percentage 31,34%, allusion with the lowest percentage 0,75% and proverb with percentage 1,49%. Moreover, the dominant type of Idiomatic expression found in Joker film script was phrasal verb with 59%. It can be concluded that there were five types of Idiomatic expression found Joker film script namely phrasal verb, phrasal compound, slang, allusion and proverb. Wherefore, the dominant type presented by phrasal verb.
