Abstract

The title of this writing is "Descriptive Study of the Values Contained in Children's Stories by Arleen Amidjaja".The research problem of the study is what are the types of values contained in the children stories by Arleen Amidjaja, and what is the dominant value used in the children stories by Arleen Amidjaja. The purpose of this study is to analyze the values contained in the children stories by Arleen Amidjaja and to find out what types of values are the most dominant in the stories. This is a Qualitative research. This research is to find out what values are contained in the story, and to find out what types of values are the most dominant in the story by using data analysis. The result of the study show that there are 5 types of values in the story, namely: social value, moral value, value of truth , beauty value and religious value. In the stories by Arleen Amidjaja it is also know that there is one type of value that is very dominant namely Moral value. In addition, the author makes conclusions to be a motivation for the readers.
