The result of the research showed that, first, the students listening comprehension was difference before and after teaching using audio-visual material. The mean of pre-test was 33,50 while the mean of post-test was 87,00. The difference between pre-test and post-test mean was 43,5. Second, the result showed that t-test (to) 17,71 was higher than t-table (tt) 2,09 with the degree of freedom (df) 19. Therefore, there was significant difference after teaching using audio-visual material toward students’ listening comprehension. The effect size of experiment test was 4,30 which showed that using audio-visual material in teaching narrative text gave strong effect on students listening comprehension.
