Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out for whetter Neurological Impress Method (NIM) can Improve Reading Skill of Grade VII at SMP Ngeri 6 Kupang Tengah. This research was conducted at SMPN 6 Kupang Tengah, with a population of 68 students and the sample for this research was class VII 30 students. The method used in this research is quantitative and the research design is Pre-Experimental. The instrument used in this research is a multiple choice test. Data collection techniques can be determined by calculating the average score of students in the Pre-Experimental group. The research results showed that there was a significant difference between the scores of students in the Pre-Experimental group. There were significant results between the pre-test and post-test based on the results, the calculated t value (5.61) was higher compared to the t-table value (1.69) with df =N-1. This means that the hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the hypothesis (H1) is accepted. This shows that the influence of Neurological Impress Method has an influence on students' reading abilities. The research questions have been answered. In addition, the total score in the Pre-Experimental group was 63,3 in the pre-test and the total post-test score was 90,6 in the post-test 2720 and the total pre-test score was 1870. Therefore, Neurological Impress Method (NIM) can improve on students' reading skill.
