Abstract
This research entitled An analysis of the educational value of Bob Marley’s songs. Based on the songs of Bob Marley in general, this study aims to describe the educational values contained in the lyrics of the songs. This study uses qualitative descriptive methods to find out the results. The researchers carry out the necessary data collection activities followed by processing the data with the specified techniques. The results of data analysis and interpretation showed that in the lyrics of Bob Marley's songs there are educational values that are 1) Religious Value. Song tittle: One Love, on the lyrics “Give thanks and praise to the Lord, so, when the mans comes there will be no no doom, There ain’t no hiding place from the father creation”.Get Up and Stand Up, on the lyrics “Gret God will come from the sky, Almighty God id a living Man, Redemtion Song, on the lyrics “But my hand was made strong by the hand of the almighty, Who feels it know, Lord. 2) Sosial Value. Song tittle: One Love, on the lyrics “One love, One heart let’s get together and feel alright, Redemption songs, in the lyrics “We forward in this generation Triumphantly and Wan’t you help to sing,Positive Vibration, in the lyric “Why not help one and another on the way” No Woman No Cry, on the lyric “So, dry your teras, say, yeah”, Is This Love, on the lyrics “We’ll be together, we’ll share the shelter. 3) Personality Value. Song tittle: Three Little Birds, on the lyric “Don’t worry about a thing, ‘cause every little thing gonna be alright”, Get Up and Stand Up, on the lyric “Get up, stand up for yourr rights”, and Is This Love, on the lyric “I wanna love you and treat you right”,4) Moral Value. songs tittle: Three Little Birds, on the lyric “Don’t worry about the things”, One Love,on the lyrics “Let them all pass all their dirty remarks, and let’s get together to fight this holy Armageddon”, No Woman No Cry“Then we would cook cornmeal porridge, I sayof which I’ll share with you and “In this great fiture, you can’t forget your past, so dry your tears”, Is This Love, on the lyric “We’ll be together, Running Away, on the lyrics “ya running, but you cant run away from yourself and You must have done something wrong, Could You Be Love, on the lyrics “Could you be loved, The road of life is rocky and you may stumble too, so while you point your fingers someone else is judging you” And 5) Historical Value.song Tittle: No,Woman, No cry, on the lyric “’cause I remember when we used to sit in the government yard in Trenchtown.
