Abstract
There one of research problem namely what are the types of semantic meaning of lyrics in Hole. The aim of this research were to find out types of semantic meaning of lyrics in Hole. The data was taken from one person as informant using the note-taking and applied documentation as the data collection. Based on the analysis the lyrics hole, there are four types of semantic meaning. The first is conceptual meaning, for example, conceptual meaning, I,e: This rice will thrive, and we will use it as a sign of a successful harvest. Ne are nade do ta muri nga merede. connotative meaning,I,e: Moba’ni nadu mi manu. That naughty girl/chicken. collocative meaning,I,e: rowi kolo loro mone lamma. For male offspiring. thematic meaning,I,e: mita nyale ta pelam’me ne are wie hab’ba rai lowe. In order to be divided rice for all hab’ba people. The conclusion is there are four types of semantic meaning of Hole which are conceptual meaning, connotative meaning, collocative meaning, thematic meaning. While, there is three type that is not found in Hole Lyrics song, namely reflective meaning. stylistic meaning, affective meaning, and reflected meaning.
