Abstract
The title of this research is “adescriptive study on creativity teachers’ methods in teaching English at SMP Negeri 2 Kupang”. Teachers’ need creativity in teaching speaking. Teacher creativity is crucial in the success of English learning objectives. Therefore, creating creativity in English teachers' teaching methods is the best way to help students deal with spoken language in daily communication both inside and outside classroom. The purpose of this study is to describe the creativity of teachers' teaching methods in teaching English at SMP Negeri 2 Kupang. The results of this study show that creative English teachers apply various techniques in teaching English. This factor will support students' interest in learning English. Teachers use activities that have creative dimensions, look for new ways of teaching speaking, customise lessons based on students' needs and interests in speaking. Teachers utilise technology, such as internet, projectors, digital, etc. Teachers establish classroom routines, for example, building an atmosphere with clapping hands and singing that uses English as a means of communication. Teachers need to apply discussion, creative methods to build a creative dimension in teaching speaking, communicative language teaching with student-centred learning approaches, cooperative learning that values students, and interactive learning. Finally, teachers should build a social classroom environment by doing a lot of group or pair work.
