The research problem is : Does the Scattergories game increase students’ English Vocabulary to the Ninth-Grade SMP Negeri 1 Sabu Barat?, Aim of this study is to determine whether the Sacttergories Game increases the students’ English vocabulary to the ninth-grade SMP Negeri 1 Sabu Barat. In this study, the writer used descriptive quantitative especially Quasi-experimental research design. Based on the analysis it was found that there was a significant between students of experimental group and control group after carrying out treatment using Scattergories game in the experimental group and conventional method in the control group. That can be proved through the result that showed that the experimental group obtained a mean pre-test score is 55.65 and the mean post-test score is 84.75 or the Normalized Gain score of this group is 66% with an effective enough category. Meanwhile, the control group obtained a mean pre-test score is 41.67 and the mean post-test score is 58.33 or the Normalized Gain score of this group is 32% with an ineffective category. Then, the T-test is 5.221 > T-table 2.045 so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted in the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. It means that the Scattergories game is effective enough in increasing the students’ English vocabulary.
