Abstract

This thesis is under the title “A Descriptive Study On Imperative Sentence in Pitch Perfect 3 Movie” This study aimed to axplain and analyze type and function of the Imperative sentence that appeared in Pitch Perfect 3 movie. The method used in thisstudy was descriptive qualitative method. To achieve the objectives of this study, the writer collected the data through watching the movie. The findings revealed that there are 105 imperative sentences andtwo types of imperative sentence, they are: 78 positive imperative sentences and 27 Negative imperative sentences. There are six functions of imperative sentence they are 38 sentences as command,10 sentencesas request, 7sentencesas invitation, 19 sentences as suggestion,8sentences as advice and 23 sentencesas prohibition. The writer expects this research could give some information or knowledge about imperative sentence. The writer also expects thatthis research is useful to increase appreciation of literature in this case movie and is expected to motivate teachers and students to produce new ideas that are more creative and innovative in the future.
