Abstract

The title of this research is The Use of Online Games ‘Word Puzzle’ Towards Students' VocabularyMastery at the Seventh Grade Students of SMP N 6 Kupang. This research was conducted to describe student's improvement in using online games ‘Word Puzzle' towards their vocabulary mastery. The research method used in conducting this research is a quantitative method and explained qualitatively. The subjects of this study were 7th grade students of SMP N 6 Kupang. The minimum sample number in this study was 20 students from a total population of 307 students. The results of this study indicate that the percentage of pre-test scores given to students before using the word puzzlegame is (66%). Meanwhile, the percentage of post-test scores after using the word puzzlegame increased to (100%). The results of this study also showed that studentsresponseare very good. They agreed that the application of word puzzlegame could improve their vocabulary mastery. Data analysis of interview percentage showed that (89%) students were more active and enthusiastic in learning vocabulary after the word search game was implemented.The writer concludes that the online game ‘word puzzle’canimprove thestudents’ vocabulary at SMP N 6 Kupang.
