Abstract

This research is based on the uniqueness of students in the English study program in learning. This study aims to describe the learning styles of students in the English study program at the Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang. This research is a study of visual, auditory, kinesthetic learning styles and the factors that influence the learning styles of English students, using a qualitative descriptive analysis approach. The theme of this research is to analyze learning styles and the factors that influence student learning styles. This study uses questionnaires and documentation data collection techniques. The data from this study were obtained directly from students. All of these data are used as material to describe learning styles and the factors that influence student learning styles. The results of this study indicate that most of the students of the English language study program at the Christian University of Kupang are dominated by the characteristics of visual, auditory, kinesthetic learning styles and factors that influence learning styles. The conclusion of this study is that the most dominant learning style for students at the Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang is auditory learning style and the factors that influence student learning styles are good physical condition, good environment, teacher learning strategies and methods that are in accordance with student learning styles, time lag used by students to understand and process material information properly so that learning styles can be maximized.
