Abstract
he research conducted to answer questions what are the types of virtual media used by lecturers? And what are the Lecturers’ strategies applied in using virtual media at Artha Wacana Christian University? The thesis focuses on the teaching and strategy in virtual media. The data was taken by giving questionnaire as the instrument. The participants were 6 Lecturers. The problem led to aim of this research are to find out what are virtual media as used by the lecturers and to find out what are Lecturers do when they are applied in using virtual media at Artha Wacana Christian University. Researchers found five types and five strategies used by lecturers in virtual media based learning, namely: to type video call, video, calling, chatting and audio visual while the strategies there are learning by doing, incidental learning, learning by reflection, case based learning and learning by exploring.In this term of qualitative data, the writer used data collection and field strategy. The research instrument used is a questionnaire response to the use of virtual media. However, in virtual teaching media, not all lecturers like this type because this type is not very supportive of delivering material directly which was make students feel unnoticed or even ignored because they only deliver material through chatting. So, from the types of virtual media studied, the most widely used by lecturers is video call and audio-visual because it can facilitate the virtual learning process that summarizes all things, such as directly stating the material to be conveyed and meeting face to face.Every lecturer wants the best for their students and every student must have a dream that was come true one day when they succeed or become good in the future, they make a list of what to do when they have earned a bachelor’s degree or have been successful in the future. The role of the lecturer in using every existing strategy is very important because the lecturer was be trained and at the same time tested the level of accuracy of students who do not pay attention to their teaching because it is based on virtual media.Teaching virtual media aim are generally able to attract students’ attention. Virtual media also help keep students’ focus on the lesson delivered by the teacher. Increase knowledge, insight, and experience about things thatrelated to the role of lecturers in learning using virtual media, becauseseeing the realities that exist directly was make it easier to studyproblems so that they can benefit from this research.The role of virtual media is increasingly important when learning is carried out online or remotely as it is now. And just like other teaching media, virtual media can be made by the teacher himself.
